Red Chris Development Company Ltd., a subsidiary of Imperial, holds 30% interest in the Red Chris copper/gold mine in northwest British Columbia, 80 km south of Dease Lake. The Red Chris property encompasses 23,142 hectares, and is comprised of the main and south claim groups, consisting of 77 mineral tenures, five of which are mining leases.

In March 2019, and following an intensive due diligence process, Newcrest entered into an agreement with Imperial Metals to acquire 70% of the Red Chris Mine.
The Australian gold miner will acquire a 70 per cent jointventure interest in the Red Chris mine and surrounding tenements in British Columbia. Newcrest will also operate the mine, which is estimated to contain 20 million ounces of gold and 13 billion pounds of copper.
In 2019, the Red Chris mine produced 36 thousand ounces of gold, 134 thousand ounces of silver, and 71 million pounds of copper. In 2020, the mine is expected to produce about 40 thousand ounces
